Role Description


To collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities focusing on I&C engineering of reactor and its auxiliaries, thermal cycle and its auxiliary and ancillary systems and experimental facilities.
The resource will operate under supervision of a Senior I&C Engineer.

 

Main Activities

 

  • Support and take part to I&C engineering activities in all project phases: feasibility studies (architectures), conceptual, basic and detailed I&C engineering design.
  • Contribute to the development of company standards and specific design criteria for I&C.
  • Write technical specifications, datasheets, requisitions, make calculations for I&C components.
  • Contribute to the implementation of logic diagrams, control narratives, cause and effect matrix of and IO database of plant systems.
  • Contribute to the development of instrumentation hook-up design, wiring diagrams and instruments location plans.
  • Contribute to technical queries and technical bid evaluations of suppliers.
  • Contribute to own roadmap development.
  • Perform the I&C suppliers follow-up, and report regularly.

Desired Qualification

 

Education:

    

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Master or PhD is a plus.

 

Languages:

 

  • Fluency in Italian
  • Fluency in English
  • Third language knowledge is a plus.

 

Experience / Professional requirements:

 

  • 2 to 7 years’ experience in automation or instrumentation design of automation systems for industrial, process or power plants. Junior applicants will also be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of I&C engineering lifecycle (V&V), design, relevant calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of industry regulatory codes and standards and design criteria relevant to the engineering discipline (RCC-E, IEC 61508, IEC 61513…).
  • Basic knowledge of power production and nuclear reactors processes.
  • Basic knowledge of automation architectures, performances and general specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity (IDMZ, IDS, disaster recovery…).
  • Basic knowledge of materials and equipment used in I&C
  • Good knowledge of Office® suite and Visio®.
  • Basic knowledge of Matlab / Simulink.
  • Knowledge of some programming language, mainly Python, C, C++, C# or Java, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of databases is a plus.
