Role description
This is a role within the newcleo’s communications team, reporting to the Head of Comms Italy and based in Turin. The role is global and the holder will work very closely with the global Communications team to support the creation of scientic and technical content, ensuring a consistent approach to communications with a clear scientific focus on energy and nuclear energy.
(S)He will work closely with the CEO, the CSO, the Engineering Directors and the scientific team colleagues to identify reports and content to prioritise for summary and development, including supporting the organisation/maintenance of this material. Areas of work will include scientific, engineering, and project progress.
(S)He will also support newcleo’s drive to build a rich seam of accurate divulgative scientific content for all of the company’s channels and audiences (presentations, media articles, social media, intranet, external newsletters, newcleo.com etc.) to be used in response to news or proactively to further our reputation and the positive perception of our project among the public.
The successful candidate will need to develop internal relationships that are strong, credible and trustworthy and demonstrate a proactive mindset with strong scientific rigour and also an appreciation of modern communications styles.
Main activities
- Draft specific content for different channels and audiences
- Ensure accuracy and correctness of technical and scientific content
- Ownership of the scientific comms, as well as accountability and responsibility on relevant content
- Ensure newcleo’s material for external and internal use is accurate and up-to-date
- Ensure language homogenisation within the Group
- Develop and maintain relationships with the relevant colleagues in the scientific team
- Support the graphic team in translating technical content into visual assets (video, infographics, schemes, renderings, etc)
Desired qualifications
- Degree level educational background – Degree in Nuclear Physics or Nuclear Engineering
- Fluent Italian and English, additional languages desirable
- An appreciation of nuclear energy and the furthering of its agenda and promotion
- Demonstrable scientific background and ability to maintain scientific rigour in their output
- Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
- Good awareness of modern communications styles and channels
- High level of integrity, trust and transparency
- Good emotional intelligence and team work orientation
- Detail-oriented, hands on and able to take initiative when required
- Intellectual flexibility, good attitude in working with different functions
