Role Description
The role holder will be responsible for the strategy and the negotiation with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses. He/ She will lead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.
Main Activities
- Verify financial reliability of key suppliers.
- Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers if required.
- Manage tender phase or verify that specific department has managed it correctly.
- Liaise with legal counsel to verify that relevant contracts/POs have been legally reviewed.
- Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.
- Process purchase orders to acquire goods
- Support in Developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures for the organisation.
- Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities
Desired Qualification
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance or a related area, (Master's degree preferred).
Languages:
- Fluent Italian and English
Experience / Professional requirements:
- Relevant experience of delivering and adding value in a similar commercial and procurement role
- Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units, functional partners (like IT, finance, HR, legal…) and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
- Strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset
- Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
