Role Description

We are looking for a Piping & Supports Analyst who will collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities for the plant, focusing on design aspects related to piping stress analysis and define and verify supports of nuclear island, steam / condensate cycle, utilities and water treatment.

 

Main Activities

  • Perform piping stress analysis for Nuclear Island, Conventional Island and Balance of Plant.
  • Perform structural analysis on piping supports, back-up structures and embeddements. 
  • Carry out feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and front-end design, detail engineering and design
  • Develop internal standards and specific design criteria for piping stress analysis, support definition and stress engineering.
  • Optimization of configuration for piping, supporting structures and pipe routing.
  • Provide feedback to the plant, piping and equipment layout. 
  • Coordinate the piping and support activities carried out by consociates and suppliers.
  • Verify stress analyses done by consociates and suppliers.
  • Preparation of technical specification (e.g.: piping classes, material selections), datasheet, technical queries, technical bids.
  • Collaborate to the identification of breakthrough solutions to the most complex piping challenges.
  • Write and review design criteria and analysis assessment reports.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Desired Qualification

  • Degree in Mechanical, Energy or Civil Engineering
  • Master or PhD is a plus
  • English (Required): Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a mandatory requirement for this role. Clear and effective communication in English is essential for day-to-day responsibilities, team collaboration, and interactions with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Italian and French (Desirable): While not mandatory, a basic to intermediate level of proficiency in Italian and French is desirable for this position. The ability to communicate in Italian and French can be advantageous, as it will facilitate effective liaison and collaboration with our French and Italian teams.
  • 2 years’ experience in piping design of industrial plants. Experience in power or nuclear plants’ balance of plant is a plus
  • Use of CAD, 3D models and structural analysis codes.
  • Conversant with the main O&G and Nuclear standards such as ASME B31.3 and RCC-M.
  • Knowledge of engineering cycle for development of feasibility, basic design, FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up
  • Good knowledge of design and analysis principles for large or complex systems. Knowledge of nuclear industry is a plus.
  • Understanding of analytical techniques and relevant design codes.
