Role Description
We are looking for a Nuclear Security Manager who will support newcleo’s Global Head of Security to ensure that all Italian security related requirements are covered. This includes both corporate style security and the security of newcleo’s growing Italian engineering research activities / facilities.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- The coordination and timely delivery of security management arrangements required to support newcleo SrL’s growing daily security requirements.
2. Driving and leading / championing the continuous improvement of the corporate culture with a key focus on safety, security and resilience.
3. Establishing and administering the Italian security working group to coordinate security & resilience improvement workstreams with Group Security and other national security teams.
4. Measuring performance and reporting compliance against the Group Security Standards (GSS).
5. Delivering personnel security services, travel security and insider threat programme advice, in partnership with the HR team and Group Personnel Security Manager.
6. Delivering supply chain security services in partnership with the Supply Chain team and Global Supply Chain Security Manager.
7. Assist in the delivery and synchronisation of Cyber security and Information security services in partnership with the Chief Information Officer and IT Director’s teams.
8. Supporting from a security perspective engagement with Italian authorities, Italian regulators and Government agencies as required.
9. Supporting newcleo’s Italian acquired companies develop proportionate security standards in line with newcleo’s GSS.
10. Supporting from a security perspective engineering experimental / research activities at newcleo SrL facilities as required.
11. Supporting security investigations, near miss reporting, training and routine reporting.
12. Supporting security management of ad-hoc and international projects as required.
13. Working with other safety, security, environmental, quality and assurance colleagues throughout newcleo to ensure an integrated approach to SSHEQ and regulatory compliance with newcleo SrL operations.
14. The role should be based in Turin (preferred). However, other northern Italian locations may be considered. There will be a requirement to undertake routine travel to multiple office locations in Italy and Switzerland and occasional travel to UK and France office / site destinations.
15. The role requires a minimum of 3 days a week physically in one of the newcleo offices. (Potential for 2 days a week work from home with prior agreement of Global Head of Security
Main Activities
- Delivery of above requirements and responsibilities.
- Engage with all stakeholders as required on Physical, Personnel, Culture, Information, Supply Chain and Risk security domains
- Responsible for the continued development of newcleo Srl security policies and procedures in line with newcleo’s GSS.
- Responsible for building on the existing successful ongoing security engagement with Italian Government, authorities and regulators as required.
- Responsible for leading and further developing compliant proportionate security regimes at all Italian office and site locations (engaging with site owners where required if
- newcleo not the owner).
- Undertake other security related duties as required or directed with the agreement of the Global Head of Security. This may include supporting the security arrangements of nominated newcleo High Net Worth Indivduals.
- The role will have some line management duties.
Desired Qualifications
- Clearly evidenced delivery success in a similar highly regulated / critical security role. Ideally in civil nuclear industry, although other regulated or Critical National Infrastructure type backgrounds will also be considered.
- Able to act independently and make decisions as required, in line with delegated security authority.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and teams whist providing robust constructive challenge when necessary.
- Experience / specialism in key security domain i.e on Physical, Personnel, Information, Supply Chain, International Security.
- High levels of motivation and commitment; Attention to detail.
- Detailed knowledge of underlying security related rigour required to support the development of complex security plans consistent with national government (or regulatory) expectations.
- Previous awareness of information security standards.
- Previous knowledge of civil nuclear safeguards activities and or Export Control Licensing requirements
- Prior knowledge or experience of working with IAEA security documentation / standards.
- Strong project and contract management skills.
- Degree level education and prior membership of professional recognised security organisation.
- Fluent in Italian.
- High level of spoken and written English language skills.
- Some French language skills.
- Subject to achieving the necessary Italian security clearances (Note potential residential limitation).
