newcleo’s immediate focus is on delivering a prototype unit 30MWe, a first commercial 200MWe unit (LFR200) and a fuel manufacturing factory over the next decade. We are building our team to meet this challenging and exciting objective.

 

Overview of the role 

Our Supply Chain team is responsible for supply chain development, Procurement, Contract Management, Surveillance and expediting. We are looking for highly motivated and pro-active Supply chain development manager to undertake strategic supply chain development and supplier relationship management.

 

You will work as part of the newcleo France Supply Chain team and will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain procurement category management, supplier qualification, sourcing, key supplier management through liaison with colleagues from across the business and specifically in UK and Italy to ensure a global approach.   You will work closely with the Engineering and Project Delivery teams.

 

As newcleo is a startup company the role will require a hands-on proactive approach, the individual must be comfortable with early-stage programs and have the ability to work with ambiguity and change and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues from across newcleo’s functions and group of companies.

 

 

 

Missions:

 

The Supply Chain Development Manager will be responsible for the global supply chain development across the different newcleo’s projects (procurement categories management, supplier qualification, sourcing, key supplier management).

 

The main missions of the Supply Chain Development department are the management of the industrial strategies, package plan against project’s needs; and suppliers panel identification and qualification needed for the delivery of reactor and fuel factory.

 

The Supply Chain Development Manager will:

 

  • Manage a team (about 10 people) performing the 4 following activities:
    • Category management
    • Supplier qualification
    • Sourcing
    • Key supplier management

 

  • Be accountable for the main activities as follows:
    • Consolidate project needs and workload by procurement category;
    • Consolidate supply chain capacity to carry out this workload;
    • Deploy by procurement category: make or buy strategy, package plan, identification of potential suppliers panel, analysis of risks and opportunities…;
    • Qualify suppliers in compliance with nuclear and local regulations (with a lean approach to minimize supplier’s workload);
    • Identify strategic suppliers and structure the relationship management (in-depth knowledge, performance monitoring, strategic alignment);
    • Manage the supply chain crisis and risks events (failure, sanction, plant loss, supplier ownership change, inflation...).

 

  • Be responsible for the following transversal tasks:
    • Consolidate all projects requirements (technical, BP, demand plan…);
    • Implement team and systems capabilities;
    • Develop the supply chain to support newcleo’s requirements where there are gaps in SC capability or capacity;
    • Coordinate and follow-up the supply chain roadmap against projects delivery model;
    • Interface with procurement and contract management to streamline the process;
    • Ensure efficiency and quality of the supply chain development model through lean management;
    • Promote a partnership approach with key suppliers;
    • Be an interface with the project on transversal topics;
    • Be involved in the deployment of tools, methods and processes;
    • Work on various missions that may contribute to the needs of the project.

 

Technical & Soft Skills required:

  • Experienced buyer;
  • Very good knowledge of supply chain processes (sourcing, purchasing, contracting);
  • Strong nuclear technical skills;
  • Customer-oriented;
  • Experience in lean management;
  • Strategic thinking;
  • Global thinking and understanding of a project life cycle stakes;
  • Management experience with leadership skills > 10 years at least;
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with different stakeholders;
  • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies;
  • Excellent organizational, independent working and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluent English – Italian is a plus.
