Overview of the role:
newcleo is driving forwards an exciting and challenging international programme to develop and deploy our innovative Lead-cooled Fast Reactor technology. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and pro-active Portfolio Planning Lead to support the newcleo Portfolio.
The Portfolio Planning Leads primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the overarching business schedule taking into account all the Programmes of work within the newcleo Portfolio. The management of the Portfolio Plan Baseline, and the facilitation of schedule changes and impacts against the Portfolio Plan in collaboration with the deployment PMOs.
The role will require you to take on leadership responsibilities within the planning function helping to develop good working practices with regards to Project Controls Planning, as well as overseeing the implementation of these practices across our deployment PMOs (France, Italy and the UK).
As well as the management of the Portfolio Plan and Process / Best Practice development, the role will also oversee the production of Planning Reports up to Board level, focusing on key or strategic milestone reporting.
As newcleo is a start up company the role will require a hands-on proactive approach to estimating and project controls generally; the individual must be comfortable with early-stage programmes and have the ability to work with ambiguity and change whilst establishing a clear path towards successful project delivery. The role provides the opportunity for an individual to expand their capability and experience as the programme grows from its early definition through to multi £billion delivery.

Is this role right for you?
We would like to speak to people who have:
- Significant level of industry experience, with demonstrable level of experience in a Senior/Lead Planner role.
- Experience of developing and delivering complex infrastructure/energy projects/programmes (ideally with experience of working within a highly regulated environment, with a robust quality and safety management system).
- Experience of projects/programmes in the nuclear sector beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of developing and maintaining schedules for large scale programmes from early programme definition through to delivery.
- Proven experience and capability to establish Planning and Scheduling frameworks, systems and processes in a complex environment.
