Immediate Focus

Our immediate objective is to deliver a prototype 30MWe LFR, followed by a fleet of 200MWe reactors.

And developing a nuclear fuel factory to supply our reactors fuel needs and allowing the fuel cycle closure.

Main duties / role and responsibilities

 

You will take a lead on, and manage key aspects of the Global Compensation & Benefits agenda, such as the Success Factors compensation modules including the global annual salary review process and Stock Option awards. Working closely with the Global People and Culture Director in a strategic role, you will be involved in a number of other compensation tasks and projects. You will inform how our ambition for compensation and benefits can be realised within our parameters and deliver it.

 

This role will be the first of its kind within this 3 year old start up, consequently there will be a fluctuating balance of project work and maintenance to set up our systems and infrastructure for growth.

You will have one direct line report. The position is offered on a permanent basis in any of our European Offices, UK, Italy, France, Switzerland or Belgium.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global Total Rewards strategy that aligns with newcleo's business objectives, culture, and talent attraction/retention goals. You will own employee lifecycle events as they relate to C&B, to include but not limited to pension scheme management, medical cover, travel insurance, travel allowances, welcome bonus’s, exit terms, amongst others.

• Design and manage executive compensation programs, including long-term incentive plans, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with company performance.

• Take responsibility for the Compensation and Benefits module of Success Factors, amending or creating compensation plans as necessary.

• Own our Stock Option plan, the annual grants, special awards, employee vesting and quarterly reporting ensuring there is total visibility of our stock status at any time and liaising closely with Investor Relations and the Company Secretary when required. Oversee all aspects of SO compensation, including design, implementation, and communication of SO plans (e.g., RSUs, PSUs) across multiple jurisdictions.

• Lead global pay equity initiatives, conducting regular analyses and developing strategies to address any identified disparities. Act as the go to person on salary benchmarking, conduct as necessary multi location benchmarking projects.

• Lead the development of comprehensive communication strategies for all C&B initiatives, ensuring clear understanding and adoption across the organization

• Prepare and provide compensation advice to Senior Management for proposed Senior hires,

• Lead on the salary review process organising and aligning with the various HR colleagues globally regarding timelines and instructions and guidance materials.

• Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to provide actionable insights on compensation trends, effectiveness of benefit programs, and ROI of total rewards offerings, produce insightful C&B analytics that helps the business and wider HR teams to make informed decisions.

• Work with other group functions and our Remuneration Committee on all necessary reward reporting requirements to our Executive Committee and Board.

• Assist and support the Director in developing the broader global compensation and benefits agenda that enhances our employer proposition to our people.

• Be the expert on all global compensation and benefits related policies and processes, and a first port of call for Local HR teams on these processes.

• Evaluate all roles and global benchmarking of role hierarchies, grading and job families

• Collaborate with talent management teams to align compensation strategies with talent

acquisition and succession planning initiatives

• Provide C&B expertise during mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, harmonization of compensation structures, and integration planning

• Design and implement flexible benefits programs that cater to diverse employee needs across different demographics and geographies

• Manage relationships with external vendors, including benefits providers, compensation consultants, and survey providers, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience running the Success Factors compensation modules.

• Solid experience in a reward and compensation role ideally in a start-up situation where Stock Options are a part of the benefits package, you will have had direct experience with stock holders at both ends of the organisation.

• A deep understanding of the widest remit of compensation and benefits as they apply to employer value propositions.

• Awareness of compensation-related regulations across multiple countries, including expertise in navigating complex international tax and legal requirements – you will be supported by local legal and tax expertise.

• Proven track record of running salary review processes and extensive benchmarking experience

• Used to producing insightful data and analytics that can be used as part of a decision making process

• Knowledge/trained in a job sizing Methodology (e.g. WTW global Grading, or Mercer IPE)

• Experience of identifying pay inequalities and developing pay plans to resolve.

• Excellent communication skills, with experience of both writing guidance for HR teams and employees and personally presenting / delivering technical information in an easy and accessible format.

• Critical thinking and an analytical mindset are paramount, with the ability to suggest new ways of doing things

• Experience working across multiple territories.

• Fluency in English and an additional European Language (French or Italian) would be a bonus

although not essential

You will be considered the subject matter expert of a small yet passionate People and Culture Team. You will therefore be highly visible to all levels across the business and will be required to be very flexible. As this is a new role there is a huge opportunity to influence it’s orientation and status within the business as we grow.
