newcleo is ready to develop a new, sustainable, and completely safe way of generating nuclear energy that will help humanity to zero emissions, and to the mitigation of global warming. newcleo is also working to significantly invest in MOX fuel manufacturing in developed countries, extracting energy from the current nuclear industry by-products.

newcleo’s immediate focus is on delivering a prototype unit 30MWe, a first commercial 200MWe unit (LFR200) and a fuel manufacturing factory over the next decade. We are building our team to meet this challenging and exciting objective.

 

Overview of the role 

Our Supply Chain team is responsible for supply chain development, Procurement, Contract Management, Surveillance and expediting. We are looking for highly motivated and pro-active Supply chain development manager to undertake strategic supply chain development and supplier relationship management.

 

You will work as part of the newcleo France Supply Chain team and will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain procurement category management through liaison with colleagues from across the business and specifically in UK and Italy to ensure a global approach.   You will work closely with the Engineering and Project Delivery teams.

 

As newcleo is a startup company the role will require a hands-on proactive approach, the individual must be comfortable with early-stage programs and have the ability to work with ambiguity and change and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues from across newcleo’s functions and group of companies.

 

 

 

 

Missions:

 

The Procurement category manager will be responsible for defining, implementing and driving the related procurement strategies:

 

  • Gather requirements: collect and consolidate customer requirements and constraints (project, engineering...) on technical aspects, planning, budget, demand plan, quality... ;
  • Scope the category: supply chain analysis, segmentation, package plan, make or buy, understand the stakes and challenges (e.g. costs, schedule, workload, etc.);
  • Capture the demand plan: quantity required, forecasted budget, upcoming ITT and contracts...;
  • Define supplier panel target: market benchmark, current and potential suppliers screening, capabilities & capacities mapping, competitive positioning, experiences and lessons learned, qualifications...;
  • Analyze risks and opportunities: detect and study the category risks and opportunities, implement a mitigation plan derisking (workload plan, capacities development, positioning on nuclear tenders, collaboration schemes, tax credit subventions, IP, innovation, M&A...); medium-term strategic decisions on critical leverages;
  • Evaluate operational performance: TCO analysis, quality analysis, life-cycle industrial performance monitoring;
  • Promote category strategy: define and evaluate possible industrial schemes with associated business cases, understand cost structures, propose purchasing strategies (contract engineering), build actionable medium and long-term strategic action plans;
  • Manage the category roadmap: ensure that action plans are well deployed, measure progress and deviations (milestones, indicators, alerts…), integrate feedback loop;
  • Manage strategic purchasing: all cycle from ITT until contract delivery.

 

The Procurement category manager will also:

- Be an interface between suppliers and newcleo teams;

- Be involved in the deployment of tools, methods and processes;

- Monitor its activity through regular reporting and KPIs;

- Work on various missions that may contribute to the needs of the project.

 

Technical & Soft Skills required: 

 

  • Very good knowledge of supply chain processes (sourcing, purchasing, contracting);
  • Strong nuclear technical skills;
  • Experiences Buyer
  • Customer-oriented;
  • Experience in lean management;
  • Global understanding of a project life cycle stakes;
  • Management experience with leadership skills;
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with different stakeholders;
  • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies;
  • Excellent organizational, independent working and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluent English – Italian is a plus.
