Overview of the role:
newcleo is driving forwards an exciting and challenging international programme to develop and deploy our innovative Lead-cooled Fast Reactor technology. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and pro-active Senior EPC / Construction Planner to support the programme to deploy the LFR200 Reactor in the UK, France and other countries.
As the Senior EPC / Construction Planner, working closely with Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain and Project Controls colleagues in the UK, France and Italy, your primary responsibility is to lead development of the procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning delivery schedule for the LFR200 deployment. The role requires not just planning and scheduling expertise but knowledge of construction methods and logistics and how these drive construction and commissioning durations.
As newcleo is a start up company the role will require a hands-on proactive approach and the individual must be comfortable with early-stage programmes. They must have the ability to work with ambiguity and change whilst establishing a clear path towards successful project delivery. The role provides the opportunity for an individual to expand their capability and experience as the programme grows from its early definition through to multi £billion delivery.
Reporting to our PMO Manager, the core duties & areas the role will cover includes:
- Lead the procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning planning activities
- Develop the work breakdown structure and integrated schedule for the LFR 200 construction and commissioning phases
- Maintain a Basis of Schedule for the LFR200 Construction and Commissioning Schedule
- Help to identify key studies, strategies and plans that will be required to develop the construction and commissioning schedule
- Generate and communicate high quality accurate schedule performance data
- Work with the newcleo Supply Chain Management function

The role can be based in our London, Manchester or Gloucester offices, where we have a hybrid & flexible working policy of 3 days per week in the office. There is also travel opportunities to our offices in Turin (Italy) and Lyon (France), in order to collaborate and build strong working relationships across our Global Engineering Team.

Is this role right for you?
We would like to speak to people who have:
- Experience of working in complex multi £m construction projects/programmes (experience of working on projects within a highly regulated environment and/or with safety critical assets benefical)
- Clear track record of supporting the development of construction and commissioning schedules for complex large scale projects/programmes from early programme definition through to delivery.
- Experience of projects/programmes in the nuclear sector beneficial but not essential.
- Able to provide high quality planning and scheduling services for highly complexity projects/programmes.
- In depth knowledge of planning and scheduling and other relevant project controls tools and software (e.g., MS Excel, MS Project, PRA, Primavera P6, Power BI).
- P6 scheduling capability is required but overall planning ability that supports early stage procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning sequencing and methods is crucial.
- Right to work full time in the UK & can achieve a national security clearance equivalent to a BPSS standard, or higher, within a reasonable period.
