Overview of the role:
newcleo is driving forwards an exciting and challenging international programme to develop and deploy our innovative Lead-cooled Fast Reactor technology.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager with a specialised focus on Long Lead Item (LLI) Procurement to join our team. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multi-diciplined teams developing strategies, planning, coordinating and overseeing the procurement of critical, high-value, and long-lead-time components required for the construction, maintenance, and operation of our LFR200 reactors.
The role requires a proactive, flexible but highly organised Project Manager to meet the developing demands of our deployment programme across multiple countries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, procurement, and experience working in the nuclear industry or similarly regulated industries. A deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, risk management, and quality assurance is essential.
As newcleo is a start up company the role will require a hands-on proactive approach and the individual must be comfortable with early-stage programmes. They must have the ability to work with ambiguity and change whilst establishing a clear path towards successful project delivery. The role provides the opportunity for an individual to expand their capability and experience as the programme grows from its early definition through to multi £billion delivery.

The role can be based in our London, Manchester or Gloucester offices, where we have a hybrid & flexible working policy of 3 days per week in the office. There is also travel opportunities to our offices in Turin (Italy) and Lyon (France), in order to collaborate and build strong working relationships across our Global Team.

Is this role right for you?
We would like to speak to people who have:
- Clear track record of supporting the development of complex projects/programmes from early programme definition through to delivery.
- Demonstrable project management experience, with experience in planning and managing complex procurement of critical / long lead items in nuclear power, oil & gas, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
- Construction and infrastructure industry experience (ideally in working for organisations across sectors such as nuclear/energy, oil and gas, process and petro-chem industries), with experience of working on complex multi £m (£100m +) projects/programmes within a highly regulated environment.
- International experience would be beneficial.
- Excellent knowledge of project and programe management methodologies.
- Good leadership, communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including influencing with experience of leading teams and contracts on major complex programmes.
